MARION, Iowa (CBS2/FOX28) — Two months after Iowa privatized its Medicaid system, Governor Branstad is touting some big successes, but critics say there are people still struggling with the switchover.
"Iowans are still having problems with the transition from Medicaid, our state's most important health
care safety net, to managed care," said State Senator Liz Mathis. "Just recently I talked to six different families who are having problems with this transition."
Mathis held a Medicaid listening post in Marion on Tuesday afternoon to bring representatives of the three Managed Care Organizations (MCO) to the people that have questions.
Many people who rely on Medicaid said they have trouble getting consistent answers about their coverage.
